For this activity, I give students a number and have them represent the number in four ways. Having students do this activity for representing numbers allows me to see their thinking. It also helps students develop the representing numbers concept. You can download the free template in this post.
Representing Numbers
If you use number of the day or anything similar, this would be a great activity. Students will use number order concepts, place value, and comparing to represent numbers. This is a great way to practice representing numbers. I have included the free download at the end of this post.
